About Mysore
GODS welcomes all the participants to the heritage city of India. Mysore is a very historical town and known for its heritage and culture. The city has a number of attractive tourist spots. SDM-IMD campus is nestled at the foothills of Chamundi Hill, one of South India's eight sacred hills. Chamundi Hill houses one of 18 holy Shakti Peethams, namely the Goddess Chamundeshwari temple. Mysore is a city of marvelous palaces including the world famous Mysore Maharaja Palace. Of course, don't forget to visit India's first ever irrigation dam, the KRS dam and the adjacent Brindavan garden.
Mysore has one of India's largest cathedrals, namely the Saint Philomena's Cathedral, built in Gothic style.And close to Mysore is Nanjangud also known as Dakshina Kashi where the famous Lord Srikanteshwara temple is located. By the way, Mysore was voted as India's culturally most vibrant city in a 2005 national opinion poll conducted by 'The Week', an English weekly magazine. Mysore is also rated as one of India's five fastest growing cities.

How to reach Mysore
Mysore is just about 200 km south west of Bangalore--the IT capital of India-- connected to the world by an international airport served by a number of international flights, and also reachable from all major cities in India by road and rail. From Bangalore, one can reach Mysore either by the four-lane express way or by rail, choosing from a variety of conveyance [taxis, buses, fast trains]. The journey time between Bangalore and Mysore would vary from 2.5 to 4 hrs, depending on the mode of transport chosen. |

The hotels mentioned here are located close to the institute and none of the hotels may not exceed more than four kilometers. However, please note summit organization will take care of local transporation.The pickups and drops will be arranged as per the program schedule to make the participants comfortable.
