Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade,
Chairman of SDM-IMD, is
the guiding spirit behind
the SDME Society. He is
a multi- faceted personality
combining many roles in
him. He is the head of a
religious institution that
draws millions. He is a
dispenser of justice, whose
word is law. He is the upholder
of a tradition that spans
centuries. But what may
be more important to society
at large is his role as
an educationalist with a
vision. The Society manages
forty + institutions in
diverse areas like Medicine,
Engineering, Law, Social
sciences and Management.
The SDM Trust focuses on
five areas where they can
maximize their contribution
to society; Annadan (Mass
meals), Vidyadan (Education),
Oushadadan (Medical aid),
Abhayadan (countering fear)
and Nyayadan (Justice based
on truth). For his selfless
and indefatigable contributions
to the society in the field
of healthcare, he was honoured
with the rare distinction
of being the third non-
medical person in the history
of Royal College of Physicians
and Surgeons, United Kingdom
to be granted with the title
and suffix of Fellow of
Royal College of Physicians
and Surgeons (FRCPS). He
was awarded with the Padma
Bhushan, a prestigious national
civilian award.. |

He has wide-ranging experience
in both the corporate sector
and in academics. After
graduating from IIM-A, he
worked in various leading
companies for thirty-one
years. Simultaneously, he
also taught management in
business schools. His teaching
areas are Operations Management
and General Management.
He is a particularly keen
teacher of Ethics and Values
in Management. Before joining
SDM-IMD, he was Vice President
- Operations with Sanmar
Engineering Corporation,
Chennai. During his career
in industry, he taught in
KIMS, Karnataka University
as a guest faculty member.
He has served as a member
on several panels of Karnataka
Chamber of Commerce and
Karnataka University. He
is a Fellow Member of Institute
of Engineers, All India
Management Association and
the Dignity Foundation.
He is currently an Executive
Board member of Association
of Indian Management Schools. |

Udai Pareek Ph. D. is Chairman of the HR Labs of EMPI, New Delhi and Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur, India. He is Chairman of the Governing Board of the Institute of Developmental Research and Statistics, Jaipur and Vice President of the Management Board of IIHMR. He is HRD Advisor to the Bank of Baroda.
He is Advisory Member for Asia and the Middle East of Human Resource Development International. He is also a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Global Committee on the Future of Organization Development (sponsored by the OD Institute in collaboration with the OD Network and the International OD Association).
He has been Chairman of the Governing Boards of the Institute of Development Studies, Academy of Human Resource Development (promoted by the National HRD Network of India), the South Asian Association of Psychologists (SAAP); the National HRD Network, and the Indian Society of Applied Behavioural Science, and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee of IIHMR.
He was the only Asian to become Fellow of the National Training Laboratories (NTL), and the only Fellow from India of the Society for the Study of Social Issues (SPSSI). He is Fellow of the Indian Society of Extension Education.
He has been US-AID HRD/OD Advisor to the Ministry of Health, Government of Indonesia; L&T Professor of Organisational Behaviour, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; Director, School of Basic Sciences and Humanities, University of Udaipur; Director in SIET Institute, Hyderabad; and Professor at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi and the National Institute of Health Administration and Education, New Delhi.
He is Editor of the Journal of Health Management, and has been Consulting Editor of the Journal of Applied Behavioural Science. He is on the Editorial/Advisory Boards of the Indian Journal of Clinical Psychology, Indian Journal of Training and Development, Human Capital, Abhigyan, IBAT Journal of Management LBS Journal of Management, Prestige Journal of Management, Journal of Community Guidance and Research etc. He was the first editor of Vikalpa, and has been on the editorial boards of Administrative Science Quarterly, Organisation and Group Studies, Psychologia.
He has authored or edited about 50 books and more than 350 papers. He has been given several national awards and has been cited in a large number of national and international biographical reference books. |

Mr. K G Ramachandran (born 1945) joined Infosys Technologies Limited as Senior Vice President and Advisor to the Infosys Leadership Institute on 1st March, 2004 and took over as Director of the Institute on 11th August, 2004.
Prior to joining Infosys was Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a USD 2 billion corporation listed on the major stock exchanges in India. BHEL is one of the largest engineering and manufacturing enterprises in India and also one of the leading players in the field of power plant engineering and equipment manufacturing in the world.
